Auburn offers 2024 5-star EDGE Eddrick Houston

Buford (Ga.) five-star EDGE Eddrick Houston received an offer from Auburn on Friday. He announced the news over social media.

Houston is the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound pass rusher holds 36 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia is leading for his commitment at 39.2%. 

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class currently has one commitment. Alabaster (Ala.) Moody School four-star cornerback A’Mon Lane chose the Tigers on July 30.

Houston has an On3 NIL Valuation of $116K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Twitched up edge defender who wins with get off and burst. Ran a solid 56.46 400m during his sophomore track and field season and also competed in the shot put and discus. Has positional flexibility due to size and athleticism, could potentially move off the ball to an inside linebacker prospect or gain serious mass and kick inside to a 3-technique. 

“Shows off athletic ability and physicality at the point of attack on offense as well at the tight end position. Lacks ideal length for the edge but makes up for it with his hand usage and understanding of leverage.”
