Hugh Freeze and Auburn were greeted with a major commitment on Saturday evening, as Bixby (Okla.) four-star offensive tackle Broderick Shull announced his pledge to the Tigers.

“I had the feeling. I got the feeling I was looking for in a college and immediately felt it at Auburn,” Shull told On3 upon his commitment. “I did pray about it for a bit. I feel that feeling is what God spoke to me about and that’s being an Auburn football player.”

The addition of Shull, the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 5 at the tackle position in the 2025 On300 Rankings, bumps the Tigers’ class one spot up to No. 9 overall in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

“With what they’re doing with our recruiting class, it’s one of the tops in the nation. We’re getting the program back like the 2010s and getting this program back to a national championship,” Shull said.

The class now features 13 commitments in total and now ranks No. 4 in the SEC, behind just LSU, Georgia and Alabama.

Auburn continues to beef up offensive line class

Shull becomes the fifth offensive lineman to join Auburn’s 2025 class. He’s the third blue-chip tackle to pledge this cycle, flanking Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star OT Tavaris Dice and Mobile (Ala.) Williamson four-star OT Carde Smith. Dice is the No. 201 overall prospect in the cycle, while Smith checks in at No. 228.

Opelika (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry is right in Auburn’s backyard and has continued to rise as one of the top in-state prospects this cycle. Now the No. 109 overall recruit and No. 8 DL in the cycle, Autry has been pledged to the Tigers since Feb. 1, 2023.

Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE JaKaleb Faulk is also a top-10 in-state prospect and is right behind Autry at No. 110 overall. Winona (Miss.) Secondary four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart announced a surprise commitment to AU on May 6. He and Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star DL Jourdin Crawford are both top-200 pledges.

Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood four-star cornerback Donovan Starr committed to Auburn earlier this week, becoming the third corner in the class. Buford (Ga.) four-star CB Devin Williams is a top-250 prospect, while Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) three-star Dante Core bolstered the class last month.

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton three-star tight end Ryan Ghea, Kannapolis (N.C.) A.L. Brown three-star IOL Tai Buster and Athens (Ala.) three-star OT Spencer Dowland round out the top-10 class.
