Auburn running back Brian Battie has withdrawn his name from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Battie’s return to the Tigers will provide Auburn with an excellent runner. He gained 227 yards on the ground and scored once for the Tigers during the 2023 season, playing third fiddle to Jarquez Hunter and Damari Alston.

But he has the potential for a breakout campaign with more touches in 2024.

Before he transferred to Auburn ahead of the 2023 season, Battie was coming off a 1,000-yard campaign at USF in 2022. He spent three years with the Bulls, but the 2022 season was by far his best.

In 2022 Battie ran for 1,186 yards and eight touchdowns.

Prior to enrolling at USF, Battie was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,589 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 120 running back in the class and the No. 222 overall player from the state of Florida, hailing from Sarasota (FL) Sarasota.
