Auburn safety Elias Williams enters NCAA transfer portal

Auburn safety Elias Williams has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after just one season with the Tigers.
Williams did not see any game action in 2024 with the Tigers. Before he arrived at Auburn, Williams spent two seasons at City College of San Francisco.
The JUCO prospect checks in at 5 foot 10, 212 pounds, so he’s got ideal size for the position. He’ll almost certainly get some looks out of the transfer portal.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Elias Williams played at El Cerrito High. He earned first-team All-TCAL honors for four straight seasons. Williams also lettered in track and basketball.
Elias Williams is not the only member of the secondary that Auburn has lost to the transfer portal this spring. Others have also made the move.
Auburn loses a cornerback to the transfer portal
Auburn cornerback Tyler Scott has signed with Georgia State out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos. He spent two years with the Tigers, but he opted to enter the transfer portal like Elias Williams.

Scott did not play during the 2024 season after suffering an ACL injury that required surgery. He played sparingly during his first season on campus in 2023.
Tyler Scott logged four appearances, including the Music City Bowl, in 2023. He tallied just two tackles in those appearances.
Still, there’s reason to believe Scott can be a valuable addition if he can stay healthy. He was quite highly regarded out of high school.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Tyler Scott was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 321 overall recruit in the class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 34 cornerback in the class and the No. 30 overall player from the state of Georgia, hailing from Mableton (GA) Pebblebrook.
