Auburn safety Terrance Love enters the NCAA transfer portal

Auburn safety Terrance Love has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after spending two years with the Tigers.
Love managed to play right away as a true freshman in 2023, appearing in 12 games. He recorded six tackles, a pass breakup and a pass defended.
During his sophomore season, Terrance Love had less of an impact. He notched just one tackle on the year.
While those numbers and that level of production might not jump off the page, Love’s high school film will likely entice at least a few lookers in the transfer portal. He was a high-caliber recruit two years ago.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Terrance Love was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 244 overall prospect in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class. That was according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

In addition, Love was ranked as the No. 26 linebacker in his class. He was also the No. 21 overall player from the state of Georgia, hailing from Fairburn (GA) Langston Hughes.
Auburn loses another to the transfer portal
Terrance Love isn’t the only anticipated departure for the Tigers. Safety CJ Johnson plans to enter the transfer portal for the second time in just a few months, according to a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He originally entered the transfer portal during the winter window before having a change of heart.
Johnson returned to Auburn for the spring. But after further consideration, he has opted to enter the transfer portal again.
The 6-foot-2, 206-pound safety has not seen game action for the Tigers during his two years on campus. He redshirted in 2023 after failing to see the field, then he once again did not see game action in 2024 as a redshirt freshman.
