Auburn trending up with 4-star CB Blake Woodby, recent Ohio State decommit
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Blake Woodby backed off his commitment to Ohio State earlier this month, and Auburn was quick to pounce on the opportunity.
Woodby is set to officially visit the Tigers this weekend. And heading into that visit, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong has logged an expert pick in the Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for the Tigers to land the top-100 prospect.
“I’ve talked sources around Auburn today, and there is a lot of optimism going into the visit this weekend,” Wiltfong said.
Woodby had previously been committed to the Buckeyes since October, helping to build the nation’s No. 1 overall class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

OSU, however, also landed commitments from Five-Star Plus+ cornerbacks Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord. And other schools stayed in consistent contact with Woodby, including Michigan, Florida, Auburn and others.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder locked in his official visit to The Plains just four days after his decommitment, as Hugh Freeze and Co. have made him one of their top targets in the defensive backfield.
He ranks as the nation’s No. 80 overall prospect and No. 8 cornerback, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
