Bo Nix looking forward to playing with former Auburn teammates, others in Senior Bowl
After a two-year hiatus to the Pacific Northwest, Bo Nix is back in the state of Alabama playing football. Nix is participating in the Senior Bowl, showcasing his talents to NFL personnel in Mobile, AL. Coming off a great season at Oregon, the goal for Nix is to now establish himself and prepare for the next level.
Coming back home means some familiar faces are going to be present. Nix has the opportunity to reconvene with some old Auburn teammates, where he last played during the 2021 season. He’s excited to get back on the field with them and compete.
“It’s good to see my former teammates from Auburn down here and get to play with those guys again,” Nix said. “I feel like there are some guys in the game that I’ve been able to play on Saturdays because I spanned a few conferences. I’m excited to play with all of them.”
Auburn has three players taking part in this week’s Senior Bowl but all of them are on the defensive side. Two are defensive backs — DJ James and Nehemiah Pritchett — while Marcus Harris is getting reps on the line of scrimmage. So, not anybody Nix would be sharing the field with on the Plains.
The trio was also members of Auburn’s 2019 recruiting class, one headlined by Nix as a former five-star prospect coming out of Pinson, AL.

Bo Nix ready to compete against new and familiar players
Nix has been around college football long enough to meet a ton of players. And when you play in two different conferences, there is a lot of opportunity to play against some of the best players in the country. Even so, the Senior Bowl will present fresh faces for Nix.
One of the things he’s looking forward to the most is competing against those new guys. SEC and Pac-12 players will be familiar but other conferences have plenty of representatives in Mobile too.
“Being a college player for so long, I’ve been able to see a lot of these guys play,” Nix said. “Ironically, a lot of the quarterbacks in the game spent a lot of time in college. So, we’ve kind of gotten familiar with each other watching each other on Saturdays. I’m excited to be around those guys and learn and pick up from the other quarterbacks. And at the end of the day, competing gainst other guys that I didn’t play in a normal football game.”
