Bryan Harsin, Auburn add former Florida assistant to staff
The Auburn Tigers are bringing in a former SEC assistant to the staff for 2022. Former Florida Gators linebackers coach Christian Robinson is joining Bryan Harsin’s staff, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz.
Robinson spent four seasons in Gainesville before the Dan Mullen era collapsed.
Florida was his first full-time coaching job, following graduate assistant stops at Georgia (2013-14), Ole Miss (2015-16) and Mississippi State (2017). He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he started 17 games over four seasons. He posted 149 career tackles for the Bulldogs and 4.5 sacks.
After Mullen fired Todd Grantham as Florida’s defensive coordinator, Robinson stepped in to fill the role to close out the year.
“He knows our defense inside-out, really well,” Mullen said of Robinson at the time. “I think he’s a really, bright, smart up-and-coming, young coach.”

Prior to the 2021 season, Florida gave Robinson a big pay bump, taking his salary up to $400,000 a year. However, new Gators head coach Billy Napier opted to release all 10 Mullen assistants.

Oregon’s Robby Ashford announced he would be transferring to Auburn after two seasons in Eugene. He did not appear in any games for the Ducks, sitting behind Tyler Shough in 2020 and Anthony Brown this past season.

“There’s no place like HOME,” Ashford said. “Let’s work.”
