Bryan Harsin and the Auburn Tigers are preparing for a brutal stretch of SEC games, beginning with a trip to Death Valley to battle LSU on Saturday night.

Coming off a lackluster victory against Georgia State where more questions about Harsin’s squad arose than were answered, the Auburn head coach met with the media and expressed confidence in the task at hand.

“I expect us to play physical and I expect them to play physical,” Harsin said. “It’s an SEC football game. We’re working to try and be a good football team. It will be obvious if one team isn’t physical. LSU is a physical football team from what I’ve seen. We have to get ourselves ready to play. But in the end, it’s about us. How are we going to prepare and play? We’re going to come out there and for four quarters, we’re going to play and don’t flinch. Don’t flinch.”

Though LSU has had its own set of issues, the Tigers are coming off a critical win over Mississippi State. Max Johnson had a breakout performance at quarterback, finishing the day with 280 yards and four touchdowns.

LSU’s offense has a chance to create problems for the talented Auburn defense and Bryan Harsin addressed the task ahead.

“Their quarterback is playing really well,” Harsin said. “You can see that he’s getting better and has done some very good things. They have talented receivers. On defense, they get after the quarterback and have done a good job upfront.”/

Bryan Harsin hasn’t made QB decision for LSU

In last week’s victory over Georgia State, Harsin decided to bench starting quarterback Bo Nix mid-game. Sophomore LSU transfer T.J. Finley took over at quarterback for Auburn, and he helped the Tigers secure the comeback victory.

Harsin has not yet decided on his starting quarterback for Saturday’s game against LSU.

“That has not been decided yet,” Harsin said to reporters on Monday. “I know depth charts come out – depth charts are a little bit old school. So many things change during the week… We’re going to get our QBs prepared today and tomorrow morning.”

Nix was 13 of 27 passing the ball with 156 yards against Georgia State before being pulled. When Finley took over, he completed nine of his 16 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. Finley’s touchdown was Auburn’s only offensive touchdown of the game.
