Cadillac Williams provides multiple injury updates ahead of the Iron Bowl
Auburn is going to need to bring its best during the Iron Bowl on Saturday against Alabama. Carnell “Cadillac” Williams knows that, and he made it clear when he provided injury updates on Tuesday.
Williams said Marquis Burks, Marcus Harris and Jeffrey M’ba are all day to day with various injuries. He added he hopes to get them all back in time for the game so Auburn can be at full strength to take on a top 10-ranked Crimson Tide team.
As far as M’ba’s status, Williams said the goal was to get him back last week against Western Kentucky, and that will be the case again this week.

“All three of those guys are day to day right now,” Williams said. “I know M’ba, man, thought he had a shot last week. Again, he’s day to day. Hopefully we can get him back because he, as the season’s been going, his arrow is going up. He’s going to be a good player for us. We need all the bullets in the gun, we need everybody on deck here. We need to get as [many] people playing as possible where we can get freshened, get these guys to the fourth quarter.”

Cadillac Williams thanks Auburn family for providing confidence to ‘scared puppy’ in interim role
Cadillac Williams already had a spot in Auburn’s history book for what he did with the Tigers as a player. Now he’s adding a new layer to that as the program’s interim head coach. While the fanbase is grateful to him for the job he’s done, he expressed equal if not greater gratitude to them for their love.
Williams spoke again about the support of the Auburn fan base following his second win, a 41-17 victory over Western Kentucky, last weekend. He said everyone around the school, from players to alumni to students, has provided him with the confidence to be who he is as a coach.
“They’ve gave me so much confidence to do this job. I go from the first week being a scared puppy to watching my guys come by the office and say, ‘Coach, we believe in you. Coach, we so happy.’ To giving me that confidence? The support of the Auburn family? The fans? Wow,” said Williams. “Former teammates, former players? Just students on campus? It’s unreal the confidence they’ve gave me.”
