Auburn guard Chad Baker-Mazara is never from getting himself in trouble on the basketball floor. But the Tigers’ guard has grown frustrated of refs not treating him fairly. And on Saturday evening, Mazara saw a post from an Auburn fan getting tired of referees not treating one of their stars fairly. They were complaining about the officials, when Mazara tweeted, “They be itching to give me one [a technical foul]”.

Later on Saturday evening, he deleted the tweet.

Baker-Mazara is one of the more complete players on a loaded Auburn roster this year. He’s averaging 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per outing. The top-ranked Tigers handled the Georgia Bulldogs 82-70 on Saturday. They got another Player-of-the-Year type performance from Johni Broome. He stuffed the stat sheet with 31 points and 14 rebounds in carrying his team to the victory.

Mazara finished with 11 points, four assists, and three rebounds.

Georgia got some big-time performances from some of their biggest stars, Asa Newell and Blue Cain. Newell pumped in 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Cain pumped in 13 points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs, including draining two of his four three-pointers.

Auburn outrebounded Georgia 40-35. And the Tigers also had 17 assists, compared to 11 for the Bulldogs.

With the win, Auburn currently sits at 25-2 overall and 13-1 in the SEC. They’re trending for a No. 1 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Their only losses on the season have come to top ten opponents (the Florida Gators and the Duke Blue Devils). Both of those squads are playing like elite basketball right now just a week away from March. Auburn has been the top-ranked college basketball team in America for much of the year, but it’ll be interesting to see if a team like Duke can battle for that top overall spot in the future.
