Clemson transfer RJ Godfrey schedules visit to Auburn
RJ Godfrey is going from playing for the Tigers to visiting a new program of Tigers next week.
Godrey, a transfer from Clemson, has, per the latest from Justin Hokanson of Auburn Live, scheduled a visit to The Plains for next week on April 30th.
Godfrey has spent the past two seasons at Clemson and made 69 appearances with one start.
In those two years, Godfrey has averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 59.5%. As a sophomore this last season, he improved at 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds at 59.4% overall.
Godfrey played high school basketball at North Gwinnett in Georgia. He was a three-star prospect there and the No. 170 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as the No. 44 SF in the class and the No. 6 player out of the state.
Godfrey is now the No. 305 overall transfer per On3’s 2024 Transfer Portal Top Players. He also ranks as the No. 52 SF in the portal at the moment.

Godfrey is one of three players to be transferring from Clemson this offseason. Joshua Beadle and Jack Clark have both entered the portal as well with Beadle having already committed elsewhere to Boston College.
As for Auburn, they’ve lost three players themselves in the portal, all of which came from their backcourt. Aden Holloway, their top recruit from the previous cycle, crossed enemy lines by transferring to Alabama. Tre Donaldson also committed to Michigan while KD Johnson went to George Mason.
In turn, the Tigers have made one addition in the portal in JP Pegues from Furman. He will join a roster that’s retaining some key pieces, such as Johni Broome, Chad Baker-Mazara, and Dylan Cardwell, and adding in the No. 15 recruiting class with a pair of four-star, Top-75 freshmen.
Auburn has several decent pieces in the frontcourt under Bruce Pearl. Now, depending on their visit next week, the Tigers could be looking to add another in Godfrey to pair with Pegues in their pulls from the portal.
