College GameDay headed to SEC showdown next weekend

ESPN’s College GameDay will be on-hand for an SEC showdown next weekend, as the crew is headed to Auburn Arena. Rece Davis, Jay Bilas and crew will be on the hardwood and bringing the energy prior to the Texas A&M Aggies coming to town to take on the Auburn Tigers.
“From the No. 1 rivalry in the sport to the No. 1 team — College GameDay going back to Auburn,” revealed Davis, announcing next week’s location. “The house Charles Barkley inspired to be built, against Texas A&M. Maybe Charles will join us — we’ll always ask him.”
If history is any indication, Auburn Arena will be jumping when the Tigers welcome College GameDay to town. If Charles Barkley joins the madness as Davis floated out there, the crowd will be even more wild.
Nevertheless, Auburn must go through two tough tests before they can welcome Davis, Bilas and company. First, the Tigers travel to face Georgia on Saturday. After a close contest struck fear into Auburn, they’ll look for a bigger victory against the Bulldogs this time around.
Afterwards, Auburn will travel to take on Arkansas on Tuesday. It’ll be up to the Tigers to quell guard JD Notae and his 19.0 points per game. If they can avoid upsets, next Saturday promises to be a phenomenal one.
More on Bruce Pearl, Auburn Tigers
In addition to the news regarding ESPN’s College Gameday, Bruce Pearl had plenty to celebrate earlier this week after taking care of business against Alabama. The Crimson Tide were coming off a huge victory over Baylor, but the Tigers didn’t fall victim to an upset.

To illustrate, guard Wendell Green Jr. led the way for Auburn throughout the game. Coming off the bench, Green Jr. scored 23 points, secured eight rebounds and dished out six assists. Additionally, star forward Jabari Smith got his — scoring 17 points and bringing down five rebounds.
On the other side of the court, Alabama guard Jaden Shackelford did everything he could to pull the upset. He led the Crimson Tide with 26 points in the contest, but it wasn’t enough to close the near twenty-point gap.
Now 21-1, the Tigers have a lighter schedule over the rest on February. Auburn doesn’t face a ranked squad until Feb. 26, when they travel to face the No. 22 Tennessee Volunteers. Next up for Auburn is Georgia, who they face off against on Saturday.
Bruce Pearl is leading Auburn to a magical season. Crane kicks, victories and a No. 1 ranking — the Tigers are doing it all in 2021-22. It’s easy to see why ESPN’s College GameDay wants a piece of the action in the SEC on Saturday.
