Indiana defensive line transfer Philip Blidi commits to Auburn
Former Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi has committed to Auburn out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Twitter account on Sunday evening.
Blidi is a talented defensive lineman who spent the last year at Indiana after three years at Texas Tech, one of the most coveted options in the trenches in the transfer portal.
During his lone season at Indiana, Blidi racked up 30 tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss and one pass breakup. In three seasons at Texas Tech, Blidi recorded 27 tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss.
He has received interest from the likes of both Auburn, LSU and Oklahoma, among others, in the NCAA transfer portal. He recently visited Auburn and had very positive things to say, according to On3’s Jeffrey Lee.
“It was a complete visit,” Blidi said. “I love the people. I love the coaches. Everybody was welcoming and I loved that about them. They really care about their guys, and it’s so obvious to me. It’s really a family atmosphere there.”

Blidi is the 10th transfer that Auburn has taken in since the end of the 2023 season. The Tigers have had some significant attrition via the NCAA transfer portal too, though, losing 19 players in that timeframe.
The Tigers have added a number of players who can be impact guys in the trenches, with four of the 10 new additions coming in the trenches. Of the incoming players, only one has a four-star grade in the NCAA transfer portal.
Prior to enrolling at Texas Tech, Philip Blidi was a three-star prospect and the No. 815 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 61 EDGE defender in the class and the No. 2 overall player from the state of New Mexico, hailing from Portales (NM) Portales.
