Jeffrey M’ba may not have changed schools this offseason, but he’s feeling a brand new vibe surrounding the Auburn Tigers.

From new facilities to a fresh coaching staff, M’ba believes the program has made some positive changes, and he explained as much as Auburn begins their spring practices.

“It’s crazy. Every day I come in, and I’m just happy,” started M’ba. “I feel like, you know, I feel like I’m in a new team now. All these things, we’ve got a new facility. New coach. New players. So it’s like a reboot of everything. It’s just amazing to be here.”

Last season under some turbulence due to a coaching change mid-season, M’ba only accumulated one sack and one forced fumble on the entire season for the Tigers. Moving forward, he’s hoping some new faces at Auburn will help him reach his full potential.

Moreover, Jeffrey M’ba played previously at St. Thomas More (KS), where he was a four-star prospect. He was one of the top overall recruits in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Continuing, M’ba isn’t the only one who’s feeling the good vibrations at Auburn at the moment, as freshly-minted head coach Hugh Freeze was complimentary of his team’s performances at spring practice thus far.

“Loved our attitude, effort, approach,” Freeze said. “Thought that the return meeting last night was as good as I’ve seen. Typically you worry about people being tardy or flat tire or whatever, and we had zero of that. Everybody was back on time, early.”

Freeze, of course, will be tasked with turning around an Auburn program that has gone just 11-14 the past two seasons. The Tigers have been substandard for a good few years now, the exact reason Freeze was brought in to fix things.

He’s encouraged by the start he’s seen, with players who seem hungry to learn.

If Freeze can turn things around, M’ba will be a nice piece to start with. The Tigers will need to solidify their defense if they’re to compete in the SEC, and he can make a quarterback’s life difficult in 2023 for Auburn.

Time will tell how far Auburn can get next season, but it’s evident they’re laying the groundwork for some success. Tigers faithful deserves something to cheer, and Jeffrey M’ba and Hugh Freeze will be hoping to give that to them.
