Miami (Fla.) Miami Central three-star quarterback Keyone Jenkins has flipped to Auburn to FIU. He was previously committed to the Panthers since July 30.

Jenkins is the No. 1,898 overall prospect and No. 118 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 273 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-0, 187-pound signal-caller visited the Tigers on Nov. 12 for their win over Texas A&M. He received an offer from Auburn interim head coach Cadillac Williams that day.

“It felt great,” Jenkins told Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Live. “Amazing. I’ve worked for this a long time. My hard work didn’t go unnoticed. I’m proud of myself. It means a lot. Words can’t explain.”

“Auburn is No. 1,” Jenkins added.

Jenkins has an On3 NIL Valuation of $32K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

How Jenkins’ commitment impact Auburn’s 2023 class

Jenkins is now the first quarterback commit in the Tigers’ 2023 recruiting class. Auburn also has a pledge from a 2024 signal-caller: Miami Mater Academy Charter four-star Adrian Posse.

The Georgia native is the Tigers’ first commit since the school parted ways with head coach Bryan Harsin on Oct. 31. At the moment, Auburn’s 2023 recruiting class is No. 34 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 11 in the SEC.

Following Jenkins’ pledge, the Tigers have 11 commitments that are composed of five four-stars and six three-stars. Montgomery (Ala.) Montgomery Catholic Preparatory four-star running back Jeremiah Cobb is currently Auburn’s highest-ranked commit as the No. 160 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

The Tigers also have pledges from four other top-400 recruits. They are Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star wide receiver Adam Hopkins, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star linebacker Terrance Love, Zachary (La.) four-star EDGE Ashley Williams and Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll four-star EDGE Wilky Denaud.
