Kirk Herbstreit has a message for Bryan Harsin, makes Bo Nix prediction
Kirk Herbstreit believes Bryan Harsin is beginning to feel the heat of the SEC. Following Auburn’s escape of a gigantic upset against Georgia State, Herbstreit had a message for Harsin.
“Welcome to the SEC,” Herbstreit stated on The ESPN College Football Podcast. “Where they’re boo’ing your quarterback. They’re questioning Derek Mason as a defensive coordinator. Mike Bobo’s gotta go. Harsin doesn’t know what he’s doing. It’s like — holy cow, you wanted the heat? You wanted to leave the blue turf and step into the deep-end of the pool? Here you are, three of four games in.”
In his first season at Auburn, Herbstreit believes Harsin may be questioning his own decision to leave Boise State for the Tigers. With the heat of the SEC making him sweat, perhaps his cushy job with the Broncos would’ve been more desirable.
However, Harsin doesn’t seem like one to back down from a challenge. While it was a near loss, at the end of the day Auburn came away with a victory.
Now, the heat really turns up for Harsin. As Auburn takes on LSU, Georgia and Arkansas in the coming weeks, Herbstreit’s welcome warning may be heeded by Harsin.

Herbstreit on Bo Nix
Additionally, Herbstreit kept it short and simple when speaking on the future of Auburn quartrback Bo Nix. Last weekend, Nix was benched in favor of back-up quarterback T.J. Finley.
“I expect Bo Nix to get back up,” stated Herbstreit.
Evidently, Herbstreit believes we haven’t seen the last of Nix as the Auburn starting quarterback. As of now, Harsin hasn’t named a starting quarterback for Auburn’s game against LSU.
“That has not been decided yet,” Harsin said to reporters on Monday. “I know depth charts come out – depth charts are a little bit old school. So many things change during the week .. We’re going to get our QBs prepared today and tomorrow morning.”
Harsin needs to figure it out, or he’ll be getting angrier messages than Kirk Herbstreit’s welcome over the next couple weeks.
