4-star PG Labaron Philon decommits from Auburn
Labaron Philon, a four-star point guard in the class of 2024, has de-committed from Auburn.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound junior out of Mobile (Ala.) Baker committed to the Tigers back in February over Alabama. He also received offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.
Philon provided the following statement to On3:
“First off, I would like to thank Bruce Pearl, his staff and fans for recruiting me along this journey! After the news of changes in the program and staff, me and my family have to think about my future. With that being said, I would like to re-open my recruitment. Truly and extremely blessed to be recruited by the Auburn family! Couldn’t thank you guys enough!”
This marks the second decommitment this month for Auburn. The Tigers also lost the commitment of four-star seven-footer Peyton Marshall one week ago today.

FAU sources respond to Ray Lewis report from ESPN
Philon is one of the nation’s leading scorers, hovering around 36 points per game during this past high school season.
Philon ranks as the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings — the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3). He’s also the nation’s No. 6 point guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama.
Philon Scouting Report
“Labaron Philon is a quick on quick lead guard. He has long arms and a projectable frame with wide shoulders. Philon has a quick handle that gets him into the paint. He can knock down a jump shot with three-point range and consistency. There is a confidence and a competitiveness with Philon. He needs to add strength as he has a slight frame. There is upside on the defensive end; he can move his feet guarding the ball and is quick to get into the passing lanes. There is a natural smoothness he has on the ball with an upside to continue getting better.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
