Paul Finebaum predicts the end of the Bryan Harsin era
Paul Finebaum believes the end of the Bryan Harsin era at Auburn is upon us.
The Tigers are coming off a blowout loss to Georgia, sitting at 3-3 with a matchup against Ole Miss looming large next weekend. Evidently, Finebaum doesn’t expect the embattled Auburn leader to make it past the Rebels.

“We won’t waste time on Bryan Harsin. If he has not been fired by the time this podcast hits air, that’s Auburn’s loss, not ours,” joked Finebaum, via ESPN College Football. “He should be. At this point, I mean it’s getting ridiculous. But clearly, if he hasn’t gone today, he’ll go after the Ole Miss game.”
Of course, the end of Harsin with the Tigers has been highly-publicized all year long. He’s far from the most popular coach Auburn has ever had, and he hasn’t had the success to keep the piranhas away.
It’s been inevitable for months, but Paul Finebaum believes the time is now for the Bryan Harsin experiment to end at Auburn. Time will tell if he’s right, or if the Tigers coach will survive another weekend.
Pete Thamel says Bryan Harsin’s firing is ‘an inevitability’
Furthermore, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin is doomed. It’s no longer a matter of if but when for Tigers decision-makers to move on.

Thamel joined the College GameDay crew on Saturday morning to talk coaches on the hot seat, and the first name he brought up was Harsin’s.
It’s no secret that Harsin’s tenure with the Tigers is likely coming to an end, and Thamel confirmed that notion on GameDay. Here was the college football insider on Bryan Harsin’s immediate future with the program and why a decision may need to be made sooner rather than later:
“Two things to watch at Auburn where Bryan Harsin’s firing remains an inevitability. The first potential trigger could be the result of today’s game against Georgia. The second is: they started an athletic director hiring process there. They likely don’t want the new AD’s first act to be to fire Harsin. So that could be a time pressure as well.”
Grave words for the Auburn coach. With a new regime taking over the athletic department soon, the Tigers may just want to wipe the slate clean and cut ties with a head coach that just isn’t getting the job done.
