Carnell “Cadillac” Williams has Auburn fans feeling on top of the world right now, getting a huge win against Texas A&M on Saturday. Jordan-Hare Stadium was rocking throughout, providing an emotional win for everyone involved. While he might just be the interim head coach, Williams has people on the Plains feeling good about the program.

However, it appears as if the coaching transition has not been smooth for everyone. Auburn released the latest version of their depth chart on Monday, with quarterback TJ Finley not being listed. Former head coach Bryan Harsin named him the starter at the beginning of the season. Now, Finley is not on the three deep.

Robby Ashford has been and will continue to be the starter moving forward, while true freshman Holden Grenier is the backup. Coming in as the third-string for Auburn is senior Trey Lindsey. He was awarded a scholarship recently, being a walk-on with the program for some time.

As of now, Lindsey is the only one of the four quarterbacks who has not seen the field this season.

More on TJ Finley, time with Auburn

Finley did not start his college career with Auburn, originally signing with the home-state LSU Tigers. He entered the transfer portal and was mainly a backup in the first season of Bryan Harsin. When now Oregon quarterback Bo Nix went down with an injury, Finley stepped in as the starter for the final two games of the regular season plus the bowl game.

If this is the end for Finley at Auburn, he would have appeared in 13 games. He completed 56.9% of his throws, with 1,258 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions. An injury did cut Finley’s 2022 season short, still working through shoulder problems.
