WATCH: Tank Bigsby touchdown run, accomplishes rare feat vs. Georgia
Tanks Bigsby did what no other player–or team for that matter– has done against the stifling Georgia Bulldogs defense on Saturday.
Georgia boasts one of the most dominant defenses in college football, highlighted a massive and athletic defensive lines that thrives against the rushing attack.
On third-and-one, Auburn running back Tank Bigsby found the end zone and accomplished something no other player — or team for that matter—has against the Georgia defense in 2021. The Bulldogs had not allowed a third-quarter touchdown in the 2021 so far.
While his name is Tanks Bigsby was initially jammed at the line of scrimmage but showed some shiftiness to bounce the ball outside where it was wide open to the left for an Auburn Tigers touchdown.
While Bigsby’s score kept Auburn alive in their toughest test under Bryan Harsin and the new staff, Georgia held the 27-10 lead to close out the victory.
Bigsby opened the year looking like a true Heisman candidate, surpassing the 100-yard mark in his first three outings of 2021, including Penn State, where he added two touchdowns vs. a reputable Nittany Lions defense.
Harsin on the status of running back Tank Bigsby
Bigsby entered the Georgia game with just 87 yards on 27 carries the last two weeks, including 27 yards on nine touches during Auburn’s win at LSU.

Naturally, the Auburn head coach was asked if his star ball-carrier is battling any kind of injury that has led to the dip in production.
“As far as Tank goes, he’s fine,” Bryan Harsin said.
Though it was no surprise, the Georgia front seven dominated yet again and the Auburn rushing attack was stifled. Bigsby did of course find the end zone on a nice play where it was clear he saw no hole and bounced outside. Still, he was held to just 10 carries for 28 yards, averaging 2.8 yards per carry, the lowest of any game this season.
Harsin also mentioned that quarterback Bo Nix would be one of the biggest keys to topple the ultra-talented Bulldogs.
Nix wasn’t the reason Auburn fell on Saturday. He finished the night 21-of-38 and failed to find the end zone, but the entire Tigers offense was outmatched. Georgia dominated time of possession (33:06) and averaged just 4.4 yards per play. The Bulldogs held Auburn to just 5-of-18 on third down.
Auburn has a tough road ahead in the SEC and Tank Bigsby will be a major part of the offensive plan if the Tigers are going to continue to grow under Harsin.
