Trio of former Auburn stars earn invite to NFL draft combine
Last week, the NFL revealed the entire list of athletes invited to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. To illustrate, a total of 324 prospects received invites to attend this year’s combine. As usual, the event will take place in Indianapolis — dates ranging from March 1 through March 7.
Among the prospects, there’s an interesting mix of sure-fire first rounders and athletes attempting to make their name — featuring many SEC players. Per usual, the NFL Scouting Combine is one place where athletes can rise up boards, and put themselves on the map.
Once again, the SEC has proven to be a pipeline for NFL talent. According to Chuck Dunlap, the SEC accounts for 82 of the total NFL Combine invites – which works out to just over 25% of the national total. Additionally, Dunlap mentions Georgia leads the league with 14 invitations.
Here is a look at the three players who will represent Auburn at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.

The former Auburn star established himself as one of the nation’s premiere cover corners the past few years. Per PFF, McCreary had 20 pass breakups when playing press coverage since 2019. That is good enough for the second most in the nation during that time frame, ranking behind only Cincinnati cornerback Coby Bryant.
During the season for Auburn, McCreary racked up 49 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, one sack, and 14 pass breakups. His 14 pass breakups put him in a tie for fourth in the nation.
