USC 5-star QB commit Julian Lewis takes Auburn official visit
Auburn continues to garner buzz in the recruitment of Carrollton (Ga.) five-star USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis.
The Tigers are pushing hard to flip the elite Peach State signal-caller. The latest effort was made this weekend as Lewis logged an official visit on The Plains.
Lewis took multiple visits to Auburn this spring and rounded things out with a crucial trip for Hugh Freeze and Co. this time around. Indiana and USC have also had Lewis back to campus for OVs this month, while a trip to Colorado next weekend still awaits.
According to On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, Auburn came on strong once more this weekend.
“The Tigers remain the new Big Ten program’s fiercest competition and Lewis has been on The Plains several times this calendar year including a recent 7v7 tourney his high school team won. Early returns from the visit are strong per a source,” Wiltfong wrote on Saturday.
When speaking with On3 at the On3 Elite Series last month, Lewis maintained that he is fully locked in with Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. With Georgia and Alabama now out of the picture, eyes turn to Auburn as the biggest threat to flip him away from USC.
“I’m still locked in with USC,” Lewis told Wiltfong. “That’s my spot, that’s where I’m at. I’m just running through the experience because you only get to do this one time, and everybody’s like — just enjoy what you have, enjoy the process. I’m going to go around and see how I feel with everything, but right now I’m 100 percent with USC.”
“Auburn — the competition just in terms of overall team depth,” Lewis said about what stands out with the Tigers. “Just the collective group of athletes. Their overall team is athletically probably one of the best ones in the country, in terms of the Cam Colemans and those types of guys in the world. They’re up there.”

Lewis is the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Georgia.
Tigers up to 15 commitments this cycle
This weekend has already been frugal for Freeze and his staff, as a major commitment finally came on Saturday. Enterprise (Ala.) four-star safety Eric Winters is a top-100 recruit and now headlines AU’s pledge list.
Earlier this month, Freeze and Co. landed a major commitment from Bixby (Okla.) four-star OT Broderick Shull. The 6-foot-5.5, 275-pounder is On3’s No. 19 overall prospect and No. 5 tackle in the 2025 cycle. He’s one of five offensive linemen in the class, alongside the likes of Smith and Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star OT Tavaris Dice.
Opelika (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry has continued to rise ahead of his senior season and is now the No. 109 overall prospect and No. 8 DL in the cycle. He’s been pledged to the hometown Tigers since Feb. 1, 2023.
Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE JaKaleb Faulk checks in right behind Autry at No. 110 overall. Both are top-10 players in the state. Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star DL Jourdin Crawford and Mobile (Ala.) Williamson four-star OT Carde Smith are also in the mix.
