WATCH: Bo Nix makes magic happen for the touchdown
Auburn quarterback Bo Nix pulled a rabbit out of his hat against LSU. On fourth down, Nix made an improbable conversion resulting in six for Auburn.
On a fourth-and-two play from the LSU 24, the visiting Tigers set up with a two-back single wide set. When the ball is hiked Nix rolls out to his right. Unfortunately for Auburn, the LSU defense had the play well covered Nix then reversed field heading back toward his sideline, making two LSU defenders miss in the process. As he stops close to the boundary. he sees his tight end Tyler Fromm break free. He sets his feet as the LSU defense barrels and launches a strike to the tight end for the touchdown.

That play was so nice that Nix did it twice. On the very next drive, after forcing an LSU punt Auburn would find themselves in another fourth-and-two, this time from the LSU 48. The home Tigers seemed to be ready this time. LSU only rushed four in a pocket contain setup. Once the Auburn quarterback saw that LSU had everything downfield covered, he attempted to look for a running lane, but the defense quickly closed all openings and forced him to retreat. Once again right as the defense closed in on him, he find an open target downfield. On this occasion, it was the receiver Demetris Robertson who came up with the catch. That play gave way to Auburn’s second scoring drive of the game.
Nix has made a career out of making nothing plays into something. His two in this game have brought Auburn within striking distance of LSU. If the visiting Tigers stand a chance in this game, they might need a little bit more magic from their Junior quarterback.
LSU currently leads Auburn 13-10 in the third quarter.
