Cam Newton: College career highlights

Newton is one of the biggest Auburn football legends in the history of the school. His journey to Auburn was a roundabout one. He started out at Florida, would eventually transfer to Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.

The freakish dual-threat quarterback would go on to lead Blinn to the 2009 NJCAA National Championship. He threw for over 2,800 passing yards and 22 touchdowns, while rushing for over 600 rushing yards in leading the Buccaneers to a national title.

During his recruitment after JUCO, Newton had three finalists: Oklahoma, Mississippi State, and Auburn. He chose the Auburn Tigers.

His 2010 season for the Auburn Tigers was a magical one as he’d not only win the Heisman Trophy but lead the Tigers to a national championship.

The college football legend would make a number of incredible plays throughout the 2010 season, including an amazing throw off his back foot rolling to his right against Kentucky.
