Baylor Bears guard Adam Flagler looked back on this year’s team. He wants this year’s team to be remembered for its resiliency.

It was after Baylor’s NCAA Tournament loss when Flagler was asked about what he thinks is most memorable about this team.

“Just that we’re a resilient team,” Adam Flagler said. “There were moments throughout the season where things weren’t going our way, but as a group, we collectively just wanted to continue to fight for one another.”

Unfortunately for Flagler and Baylor, that resilient season ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. There, Baylor lost to Creighton in a minor upset, with Flagler scoring 15 points in the losing effort.

During the 2022-23 season, Baylor went 23-11 and 11-7 in Big 12 play. It was an incredibly good year for the conference, which ended up eating itself alive to an extent. Still, that was good enough to end up fourth in the conference during the regular season before ultimately landing a three-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

“And credit to God at the end of the day for allowing us to even be in this March Madness and be able to play. So I’m just thankful for these guys. I’ll go to war with them any day of the week.”

After the loss to Creighton, head coach Scott Drew praised Adam Flagler, along with Flo Thamba, for helping to raise the standard at Baylor.

“Great individuals, represented the university tremendously, great memories, and blessed to be able to work with them,” Drew said. “They’ve done a lot for our program, raised the standards, and always carried themselves in the utmost professional manner.”
