Baylor fans are having plenty of fun watching the No. 13 Bears destroy No. 8 Oklahoma’s College Football Playoff hopes.

Oklahoma entered the Big 12 matchup with a perfect, 9-0 record, and with a win, the Sooners had an opportunity to make a leap in the College Football Playoff rankings, as the committee put them as low as No. 8. But Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears had other plans; the two-loss Bears currently hold a 24-14 fourth-quarter lead in Waco, and Baylor’s fanbase is letting Oklahoma hear it.

Baylor fans in McLane Stadium erupted into chants after the Bears second fourth-quarter touchdown, yelling in unison, “S-E-C! S-E-C!” to troll Oklahoma, which a few months ago announced its impending move from the Big 12 to the SEC.

It’s not the first time Baylor fans have broke out the “S-E-C” chants for an outgoing Big 12 member, either. Just a few weeks ago, Texas took to Waco with hopes of upsetting then-No. 16 Baylor, but instead, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns blew a double-digit lead for the third consecutive game, losing to Baylor 31-24. As Texas Longhorns players took to the locker room after the game’s final whistle, Baylor Bears fans let them hear it, trolling the Longhorns with “SEC” chants.

Now, Baylor has gotten the best of both Oklahoma and Texas, the two schools that will soon leave the Big 12 for the SEC.

Saturday’s performance over Oklahoma saw the Sooners bench freshman phenom Caleb Williams after he completed just 10 of 19 passes for 146 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. He was replaced by Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma’s season-opening starter and former Heisman Trophy hopeful, who proceeded to complete four passes in six attempts for 36 passing yards. Both of Oklahoma’s touchdowns came via rushing scores, one from Williams and another from Kennedy Brooks.

Baylor, on the other hand, had an extremely efficient offensive day, particularly on the ground. Baylor ran for 298 yards on Saturday, and quarterback Gerry Bohanon — who went 12-of-21 for 117 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception — added 107 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns of his own. He was Baylor’s second-leading rusher, as senior running back Abram Smith put up 148 rushing yards on 20 attempts.

Baylor should hold on to win, which will move the Bears to 8-2. Baylor will finish the season at Kansas State and then at home against Texas Tech, the latter of which features a matchup against former assistant head coach Joey McGuire, who was hired by the Red Raiders last week.
