Baylor guard James Akinjo makes a decision on his future
James Akinjo of the Baylor Bears men’s basketball team has declared for the 2022 NBA draft. Akinjo, a guard from Oakland, CA, join the bears this offseason after spending his 2020- 2021 season with the Arizona Wildcats. The Baylor senior announced his decision from his Instagram account with this message attached.
“After talking it over with my family, I decided to pursue my dream and enter the NBA draft,” said Akinjo in the Instagram post. “Thank you to the Baylor coaching staff for welcoming me into the program, to my teammates for helping me get better every day, and to the Baylor family for your support this year. I plan to hire an agent, but will continue working toward earning a Baylor degree.”
In his lone season at Baylor, Akinjo started and played in 32 games averaging 13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game.
Baylor’s Kendall Brown headed to NBA Draft
Baylor freshman forward Kendall Brown has decided to enter the 2022 NBA Draft, as he told The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The former four-star prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings starred for the Bears on their way to a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament during his one collegiate season.
Brown came to Baylor ranked as the No. 21 overall player in the 2021 class and the No. 4 small forward before further establishing himself as an NBA prospect with his style of play. He started 34 games last season, averaging 9.7 points and 4.9 rebounds.

When asked about the decision, Kendall Brown spoke candidly about his NBA dream with Shams Charania during a segment.
“My decision will be to enter the NBA Draft,” said Brown. “It’s been a dream of mine ever since a kid. So I just think that taking the next step and playing at the highest level is the best for me and my situation.”
Their teammate, freshman Jeremy Sochan is also considered a potential lottery pick in the NBA draft but has not yet made a decision about his future.
