Red Oak (Texas) South Oak Cliff four-star EDGE Kamauryn Morgan has committed to Baylor, he announced on Sunday.

The 6-foot-3.5, 230-pounder chose the Bears over Texas A&M and SMU.

Morgan is the No. 131 overall prospect and No. 19 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 24 player in Texas.

The addition of Morgan is a major in-state recruiting win for head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor staff. Morgan logged an official visit to Waco on the weekend of June 14 and is now the top-ranked pledge in the Bears’ 2025 class.

Baylor signed just the No. 62 recruiting class in the nation last cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Adding Morgan to the 2025 pledge list provides a nice bump for the Bears, who now check in inside the top 50 overall this cycle.

Morgan is the third four-star to commit to Aranda and Co. this cycle. Wynnewood (Okla.) Pauls Valley four-star running back Caden Knighten is a one-time Vanderbilt pledge who committed in February. Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star wide receiver Jacorey Watson committed earlier this month on July 2. Both are top-400 prospects, with Knighten checking in as the No. 27 player at his position.

Per usual, the Bears’ class is carried by in-state talent. Just four prospects from outside the Lone Star State are in the class, as of July 7. Tyler (Texas) Chapel Hill three-star safety Demetrius Brisbon Jr. is a former SMU pledge who committed to Baylor on Jan. 31. Lorena (Texas) three-star defensive lineman Jackson Blackwell and Trophy Club (Texas) Byron Nelson three-star SAF Leo Almanza are two of the newer in-state pledges in the class.

Other top commits for the Bears include Fresno (Texas) Iowa Colony three-star DL Christopher Johnson, Coppell (Texas) three-star quarterback Edward Griffin, Gunter (Texas) three-star SAF Colin Peacock and Jacksonville Bolles three-star wide receiver Chase Collier.
