Baylor guard Langston Love commits to transfer to Georgetown

Baylor Bears shooting guard Langston Love has committed to transfer to the Georgetown Hoyas, On3 has learned. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Love played his high school basketball at Montverde Academy in San Antonio, Texas. He was a four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, and was the 36th-ranked player nationally in his recruiting cycle and the eighth-ranked shooting guard in his class.
This past season, Love appeared in 20 games and made 12 starts for Baylor. He also averaged 26.4 minutes per game. For the season, Love averaged 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He did that while shooting 38.9 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from three-point range, and 89.2 percent from the free-throw line. Then, on the defensive end, Love averaged 0.2 blocks and 0.7 steals per game.
Over the course of his three seasons at Baylor, Langston Love played in a total of 74 games with 14 starts. In 2024, he earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention Honors before lower leg injuries ended his season early. That year, his 11.0 points per game were tops in the conference among players to not start a game. During the three-season stretch that he spent at Baylor, the Bears made the NCAA Tournament three times, advancing to the Round of 32 without getting past that point each season.
Now, Langston Love is hoping to spark Georgetown. The Hoyas’ last NCAA Tournament appearance was in 2021 and despite being a traditional Big East power, have only made the NCAA Tournament twice since 2015.

The Hoyas hired Ed Cooley ahead of the 2023-24 season looking to rebuild the program. In his first season, Georgetown went just 9-23 overall. This past season, the team took a major step forward, though, going 18-15 overall and 8-12 in Big East play. That was good for a seventh-place finish in Big East play. Now, Cooley is looking for a way to take another step forward with players like Langston Love.
Georgetown has been a very active program in the Transfer Portal this year. The Hoyas have been connected with several high profile transfers, including Jaylin Sellers and Morez Johnson. Now, with the addition of Langston Love, the Hoyas are starting to see their roster for next season take shape.
