3-star S Cory Huff Jr. decommits from Baylor

Houston (Texas) Chester W. Nimitz three-star safety Cory Huff Jr. announced his decommitment from Baylor on Thursday. He was previously pledged to the Bears since Jan. 9.

Huff Jr. is the No. 614 overall prospect and No. 57 safety in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 102 player in Texas.

Following Huff Jr.’s decision, the Bears have 21 commitments in their 2023 recruiting class. Baylor holds one safety pledge in Mesquite (Texas) Horn three-star DJ Coleman.

Dripping Springs (Texas) four-star quarterback Austin Novosad is currently the Bears’ highest-ranked recruit as the No. 117 overall prospect and No. 10 quarterback in the On3 Consensus. He chose head coach Dave Aranda and his staff on Dec. 16, 2021.

At the moment, Baylor’s group is No. 25 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 4 in the Big 12. The Bears hold commitments from four four-stars and 17 three-stars.

A 6-foot-0, 180-pound defensive back, Huff Jr. took an official visit to Baylor on the weekend on June 25. He currently holds offers from multiple programs, including Arkansas, Colorado and Louisville.
