WATCH: Keyonte George explodes for fast-break dunk during first-half dominance over Kansas
Keyonte George paved the way for Baylor to jump out to a dominant 40-23 lead in the first half over Kansas, featuring a highlight-reel dunk in the middle of a huge run. George was part of a three-headed scoring attack by the star guards of Baylor, with every one of Baylor’s first 42 points coming from the trio of George, Adam Flagler and LJ Cryer. A three-pointer added by Jalen Bridges finally broke the wild stat, as Baylor finished the half with a 45-32 lead on the road.
With Baylor beginning to pull away in the game in Allen Fieldhouse, George made a cut to the basket in transition and dunked over the heart of the defense with three defenders watching as he went by them.
Keyonte George leads the way early over Kansas
George wasn’t finished with just one big-time moment during the run, as he shortly afterwards hit an and-one three-point shot from well beyond the arc that pushed the Bears’ lead to 17 points. The No. 9 Bears gave the No. 5 Jayhawks more than they were ready for early on Saturday, as the three guards combined for 42 points on 15-of-27 shooting and 8-of-13 shooting from three-point range in the first half.

Somewhat surprising for the trio however, none of the players reached their per-game averages on the season despite seeming to score at will. George led all scorers with 15 points, just shy of his 16.5 points per game mark personally. Flagler’s 14 points was just behind his 15.8 average and Cryer’s 13 was behind his 14.9 average mark.
Unfortunately for the Bears, Kansas came back with a fury to open the second half and erased their deficit within minutes. The pressure never let up as Baylor’s offense stalled out, paving the way for an 87-71 win for the Jayhawks.
