Just when you think you’ve seen it all in college basketball, you get completely surprised. The Baylor Bears battled through their power going out in their stadium on Saturday night, but they were able to prevail against Oklahoma State, 74-58. With 11 minutes remaining in the second half, the Ferrell Center at Paul J. Meyer Arena, the current home of Baylor basketball, lost power as Keyonte George shot the first of his two free throws. Play was officially stopped for 22 minutes, according to reports.

Check out the video when play was officially stopped in the second half.

Baylor was led by L.J. Cryer, who pumped in 16 points, two rebounds, and two assists. They also got eight points, eight rebounds, and five assists from Keyonte George, their superstar freshman. George was ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2022 cycle.

Here are pictures of fans in the stadium lighting up the court with their cell phones.

Ironically enough, Baylor is set to open a new $185 million basketball arena in January of 2024. The new facility will seat around 7,000 people. It’s just yet another spectacular addition to Baylor’s facilities along the Brazos River. Their sparkling new football stadium, McLane Stadium, is one of the nicest in all of college football and has some breathtaking views along the Brazos River. The new basketball stadium for Baylor is set to be named Foster Pavilion and it will be built diagonally across the interstate from their football stadium.

Baylor currently sits at 12-5 overall and in 6th place in the Big 12 conference. Their next game is against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. That one is set to tip-off on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 9:00 PM EST. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
