Texas A&M transfer DL Samu Taumanupepe commits to Baylor
Transfer DL Samu Taumanupepe has committed to Baylor out of the portal.
Taumanupepe made that announcement with a post on social media on Friday.
“You don’t need a plan when you got God. #SicEm” Taumanupepe tweeted this morning.
Taumanupepe just finished his second collegiate season at Texas A&M. Over three games played on the Aggies’ defensive line, Taumanupepe posted six tackles, all of which came this past fall in College Station.
Taumanupepe, a native of Humble, Texas three hours southeast of Waco, played high school football at Atascocita. He was the No. 791 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2023 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as a Top-100 defensive lineman in the class and a Top-150 player out of the state.

Taumanupepe is one of 16 players so far to enter the portal and leave A&M this offseason in the portal. He’s now the second to commit with the other staying in-state as well with QB Conner Weigman committing to Houston.
As for Baylor, Taumanupepe is their first transfer addition of the cycle after they’ve lost five themselves to the portal.
