Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been having a historic season for the Broncos. Many different people across the country have him pegged in as the leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy in the 2024 campaign. His Broncos are in a battle on Friday night with the UNLV Rebels, one of the biggest games of the season for both teams.

The problem is Jeanty has been banged up for much of the game. Following halftime, the CBS Sports broadcast updated the status of the Heisman hopeful. Sideline reporter Tiffany Blackmon relayed the update on his injury status.

“I spoke with Boise State coach Spencer Danielson. He was proud of the way his guys finished the half. He called them a resilient team – much like his running back Ashton Jeanty, who’s battling through a left arm injury. They said they would see how he is feeling at the half, but that he is a warrior.”

Jeanty went into the med tent briefly in the first half, after which trainers decided to wrap his left forearm and elbow. But he went back in the game. With 12:38 left in the game, Jeanty had 26 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. He made a number of impressive runs inside the 10-yard line, including willing his way into the end zone to put the Broncos up 29-24 with 12:38 left in the game.
