Boise State trending for 4-star WR Gatlin Bair
Burley (Idaho) Burley Senior four-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair is set to make his college decision on Aug. 5. Bair will pick between Boise State, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon and TCU.
Since taking his official visit to Michigan on June 23, the Wolverines have trended as the favorites to land the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder. Now days away from his decision, a new favorite as emerged.
Following recent industry updates, Boise State is now trending to land the top prospect in Idaho. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Broncos now sit with a 48.6% chance to land Bair’s pledge. Michigan’s chance now sit at 37.2%.
“They take guys that aren’t ranked or ranked very low and they put them in the NFL,” Bair told On3’s Chad Simmons in April. “Their motto is based off development and a blue-collar program is what they’re based off of. That’s how I grew up. It really feels like home to me.
…The other thing too is I have a really good relationship with all the coaches, coach (Andy) Avalos, coach (Matt) Miller. They’re two great coaches and even better men. I feel like that’d be a place that I could go and develop, not only as a football player but as a person.”

Bair is the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 11 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Idaho.
Bair currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $167K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
How Boise State’s 2024 class stands
Landing Bair would be a massive recruiting win for Avalos and the Broncos even if Bair won’t step on the field until 2026. After high school, Bair is set to take a two-year mission trip.
It would also propel the Broncos significantly in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings
Currently Boise State has eight commitments in its 2024 class. That group ranks as the No. 111 class in the country and No. 7 in the Mountain West. Mission Viejo (Calif.) three-star cornerback Treyvon Tolmaire is currently the highest-ranked pledge in Boise State’s class.
