Boston College injury update: LB Kam Arnold, RB Turbo Richard status revealed vs. Louisville
Boston College will be without its third-leading tackler and its second-leading rusher Friday night against Louisville.
Both linebacker Kam Arnold and running back Turbo Richard will be out, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Arnold has piled up 40 total tackles this season, nine shy of the team lead. The graduate linebacker is fourth with 19 solo tackles. He’s also defended a pair of passes, even recording an interception late in the third quarter against Western Kentucky — that pick jumpstarted a second-half Eagles comeback.
Arnold, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 31 prospect in the state of Michigan back in 2020, is one of only two Eagles defenders to force a pair of fumbles this season. He and fellow starting linebacker Daveon Crouch have gobbled up most of the linebacker snaps this year, but Owen McGowan is third among the position group with 108 defensive snaps in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus. Sione Hala is another option, as he’s logged 95 defensive snaps across five games, per PFF.

While Arnold is an established starter in his fifth year at BC, Richard is a first-year Eagles player. He arrived in Chestnut Hill as a three-star prospect and as the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 112 running back in the 2024 class. Richard is a product of Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He ranks fourth on the team with 51 carries but second in that group with a 5.3 yards per rushing attempt average. Richard has logged 271 yards on the ground. His lone rushing touchdown occurred during a 23-19 win over Michigan State in the Red Bandana Game.
Richard had nine totes for 64 yards in last week’s loss at Virginia Tech.
The Eagles are hoping to bounce back from that 21-point defeat. They’re looking to snap a two-game losing streak with a home game under the lights of Alumni Stadium versus Louisville.
The Cardinals are also 4-3, but all three of their losses have been decided by a touchdown and come against ranked opponents: No. 12 Notre Dame, No. 22 SMU and No. 6 Miami.
