Boston College puts together largest ACC comeback victory in 10 seasons

Boston College needed a comeback miracle Saturday against Clemson. After a poor start, the Eagles found themselves down 34-11 with 7:11 remaining in the first half.
As bad of a spot as Boston College found itself in, it was early enough that the Eagles still had a chance. They ended the first half on a massive 21-5 to put themselves right back in it.
Boston College still trailed nearly the entire second half, but kept itself within striking distance. Finally, with 26 seconds remaining, Brevin Galloway hit a 3-pointer to give the Eagles their first lead of the game. BC got the defensive stop on the ensuing possession before adding a free throw to win 70-68.
The 23-point Boston College comeback was tied for the largest in the ACC over the past 10 seasons.
Galloway played a big role in the comeback, providing an 18-point spark off the bench. Makai Ashton-Langford led the Eagles with 19 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists. He scored all but two of his points in the second half during the comeback.

Al-Amir Dawes led Clemson with 17 points, all of which came during the first half.
The victory improved Boston College to 7-8 and 2-3 in ACC play this season and snapped a three-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Clemson fell to 10-7 and 2-4. Both teams find themselves near the bottom of the conference standings.
The Eagles are in their first season under coach Earl Grant, who previously led College of Charleston. They have not made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2009, and have just two winning seasons in the past 12 years.
Boston College has a lot of ground to make up if it hopes to earn a bid to the Tournament this season. A winning record seems achievable but would require a big turnaround in the second half of the season.
The Eagles are next set to face Louisville at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday on the road.
