3-star tight end R.J. Maryland decommits from Boston College

Southlake (Texas) Southlake Carroll tight R.J. Maryland has decommitted from Boston College, he announced on Friday.
Maryland had not yet signed with the Eagles during the signing period that ran Wednesday through Friday. He is the No. 582 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 29 tight end and the No. 88 prospect in Texas.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity that the coaches at Boston College have given me,” Maryland wrote on Twitter. “Thank you Coach Hafley, Coach Shimko and Coach Cignitti for believing in me. However, after consideration, I have decided to decommit from Boston College and reopen my recruitment.”
