4-star TE Ryner Swanson commits to BYU Cougars
Laguna Beach (Calif.) four-star tight end Ryner Swanson has committed to the BYU Cougars. He announced the news on Twitter.
Swanson picked the Cougars over Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and Utah.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is the No. 337 overall prospect and No. 22 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 28 player in California.
BYU extended an offer to Swanson on Feb. 28. Prior to the offer he had visited last September and was back on campus June 13.

With Swanson’s pledge, BYU now has seven commitments in its 2024 recruiting class.
The Cougars’ other commitments are Oxnard (Calif.) Rio Mesa three-star safety Chance Harrison, Springville (Utah) three-star defensive lineman Dallin Johnson, Spanish Fork (Utah) three-star linebacker Adney Reid, Salt Lake City (Utah) Highland three-star EDGE Siosefa Brown, Queen Creek (Ariz.) American Leadership Academy three-star quarterback Enoch Watson and Chandler (Ariz.) Basha safety Thomas Prassas.
Swanson currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $49K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
