2023 4-star safety R.J. Jones commits to in-state Cal

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco safety R.J. Jones has committed to in-state Cal, announcing the news with a video on social media Friday.
Jones had previously announced a top seven on Thanksgiving Day 2021 of Cal, Louisville, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State and USC.
However, soon after, he said he was re-evaluating his list after all the coaching changes that occurred over the last few weeks.

He is the No. 283 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Jones is also the 19th-best player from the state of California.
His On3 NIL Valuation is $17,200. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
He is the first commit in the Golden Bears recruiting class.
