Ohio State transfer QB Devin Brown commits to California
QB Devin Brown has signed with California out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Brown has spent the past three seasons with Ohio State. He appeared in 17 games with the Buckeyes, including a career-high of nine this fall as a junior, as a reserve quarterback in that time behind names like CJ Stroud, Kyle McCord, and Will Howard among others competing at the postion in the program. However, with him never becoming the starter in Columbus, Brown chose to transfer elsewhere with two years of college eligibility remaining.
In those outings as a backup, Brown is 27-48 (56.3%) for 331 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick. He has also rushed for a score.
With that, Brown is the No. 24 QB and the No. 228 overall transfer per the latest in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players.
