Down 31-16 with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Charlotte head coach Biff Poggi delivered an all-time sideline interview. In the hilarious rant, Poggi boiled over his team’s lack of discipline.

“When we hurt ourselves, it’s like watching sausage being made, it’s just a horrifying experience,” Poggi said during his team’s matchup against FAU. “It’s just football for God’s sake. Just block and tackle people. Do what you’re supposed to do. Don’t do anything else. Don’t talk to anybody. I don’t care what anybody says, you just do your damn job.”

Poggi’s speech didn’t inspire his team to victory. Instead, the 49ers fell 38-16 to FAU. In the loss, Charlotte committed 12 penalties, knocking the 49ers back 104 total yards. It’s been a frustrating season for fans of the 49ers. Charlotte entered Friday night 2-5, and it looks like it’ll leave with another tally in the loss column.

Biff Poggi strikes again

This isn’t the first time this season Poggi has dropped jaws with an explosive rant. Poggi went viral on social media during a moment at AAC Media Days, when the media only asked him three questions.

To say Poggi was not too happy would be an understatement. He went on a mini rant before slapping the podium a few times and walking off stage. Easily the best moment to come out of the event in Arlington, TX.

“That’s it? Three questions? Maybe that’s because you have us ranked last,” Poggi said at the podium. “That’s all you think of us. So, we get that message. Thank you.”

On3’s Andy Staples got to ask Poggi about the moment and wanted him to be truthful. In the heat of the moment, was he actually mad about the three questions, or did Poggi see an opportunity to create a moment and bring exposure to Charlotte?

“It was both,” Poggi said. “I was furious about the three questions. But it’s galvanized our football team. Look — believe it or not, we can read. We’ve seen all of the preseason predictions and the (Las) Vegas line of two games, and all that nonsense. That was the fire in the furnace that made us pure.”

Unfortunately for Poggi, that fire hasn’t amounted to much. Charlotte is tied for third from last place in the AAC. While Poggi’s debut season with the 49ers hasn’t gone to plan, it’s certainly been entertaining to watch.
