3-star quarterback Luther Richesson commits to Cincinnati

Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy quarterback Luther Richesson was one of the few quarterbacks not yet committed in the 2022 class. Cross him off the list.
Richesson announced his commitment to Cincinnati on his Twitter account Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-3, 212-pound signal-caller chose the Bearcats over Vanderbilt, Central Michigan and others. According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Richesson is the No. 636 prospect and No. 36 quarterback in the 2022 class.
In his tweet, Richesson wrote: “I would like to thank all of my family, coaches, and teammates that have been a part of this process with me. I’m excited to announce that I am committed to being a Bearcat! GO UC!”
Richesson has put impressive numbers this fall for Lipscomb, completing 189 of 228 passes (83%) for 2,444 yards. He has thrown 34 touchdowns and just one interception. He received an invite to the prestigious Elite 11 camp this past summer, where he competed with some of the country’s elite quarterback prospects.

His head coach at Lipscomb is former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who also coaches the Elite 11 competition. He raved about Richesson to 247Sports earlier this season.
“I love everything,” Dilfer said. “He has a burning desire to be great and he works that way. You couldn’t have a better offseason he had including the Elite 11, but all the lonely stuff he did, all the boring stuff he did to get better is paying off.”
Luther Richesson is the 15th commit in Cincinnati’s 2022 recruiting class. He joins four-stars Derrick Sheppard and J.Q. Hardaway, as well as highly rated three-stars Stephan Byrd and Oliver Bridges.
