Egg Harbor City (NJ) Cedar Creek wide receiver JoJo Bermudez has committed to Cincinnati, he announced Monday night.

Bermudez is the No. 810 overall player in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is ranked as the No. 128 wide receiver in the country and No. 12 player in New Jersey.

The 5-foot-9, 161-pound Bermudez was committed to Rutgers from November 2020 to August of this year, but backed off that pledge after visiting Georgia this summer and picking up an offer from the Bulldogs. Their interest seemed to fizzle out, but both Vanderbilt and Cincinnati offered in the month of September. Bermudez actually delayed his decision date so that he could visit the Bearcats this past weekend.

He runs in 4.4-second range in the 40-yard dash and does a little bit of everything at the high school level. As a junior at Cedar Creek, he rushed 38 times for 414 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 35 passes for 487 yards and two scores. He has played almost exclusively at receiver this season, hauling in 66 passes for 1,273 yards and 11 touchdowns.

JoJo Bermudez adds to impressive Cincinnati class

Bermudez is the 16th commitment in the Bearcats’ 2022 class and the fourth wide receiver Cincinnati has added. The cornerstones of the group are four-star defensive lineman Derrick Shepard and four-star cornerback J.Q. Hardaway. This crop is another talented one for head coach Luke Fickell, who brought in the nation’s No. 50 class in 2020 and No. 51 in 2021.

With Bermudez, Cincinnati jumps to No. 48 in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Bearcats’ class currently ranks ahead of 21 Power Five programs.
