3-star 2022 forward RJ Godfrey commits to Clemson
Suwannee (Ga.) North Gwinnett forward RJ Godfrey has committed to Clemson, he announced on his Twitter account Wednesday morning.
Godfrey is the No. 184 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
“I am truly blessed to be in this position of being recruited by such prestigious universities,” Godfrey said in the video announcing his commitment. “First off, I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play basketball at the next level. Next, I would like to my family, especially my mom and my dad, for being with me through thick and thin during this process. I would like to thank Coach Whitford, Atlanta Xpress, and all the other AAU coaches for giving me the spotlight to showcase my skill. Thank you Coach Garner and the North Gwinnett community for being with me every step of the way. With that being said, I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at Clemson University. Go Tigers.”

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound Godfrey chose Clemson over offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, Utah, Georgia Tech, and others. He is the third member of Clemson’s 2022 recruiting class. He joins three-star forward Chauncey Gibson and three-star power forward Chauncey Wiggins.
RJ. Godfrey averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks last season for North Gwinnett. He picked up all-state, all-metro and all-county honors, and Godfrey was also named Georgia’s Region 8-AAAAAAA Player of the Year.
