2025 4-star DL Amare Adams commits to Clemson: 'It's always a positive environment'
Lake City (S.C.) South Florence 2025 four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams has committed to Clemson, he tells On3.
Adams, the No. 123 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, chose Clemson over South Carolina.
“What made me choose Clemson over South Carolina was the close relationship I have with Clemson,” Adams said. “I not only have a strong with coach (Nick) Eason and Coach Swinney, but I have a good relationship with all of the coaches.”
In addition to the relationships Adams built with the staff in Clemson, the Tigers’ NFL development and his personal fit within the program also factored into his decision.
“One of the biggest reasons I chose Clemson was because I just felt like they were the best fit for me,” Adams said. “They fit my personality.
“Another big reason is how Clemson develops good defensive linemen,” Adams continued. “They have defensive linemen that go in the draft almost every year.”

Adams said his decision hit him last weekend. He has visited Clemson multiple times, and the atmosphere around campus and at Death Valley left an impression.
“I visited Clemson a couple times and I love the environment there,” Adams said. “It’s always a positive environment.”
Adams is the fifth recruit to pledge to Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class. He joins Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy four-star running back Gideon Davidson, Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic four-star quarterback Blake Hebert, Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep four-star tight end Logan Brooking and Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Easton Ware.
