2025 4-star IOL Mason Short visits Clemson
Evans (Ga.) 2025 four-star interior offensive lineman Mason Short was on the road this weekend visiting the Clemson Tigers. Short posted a video from Clemson on his social media.
Short is currently uncommitted after decommitting from Alabama on January 16 following the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban. He had initially pledged to the Crimson Tide in April.
“First off I would like to thank God for the blessings in my life and the opportunities I’ve been given,” Short told On3. “I would also like to thank Coach Saban and the coaching staff at Alabama for an amazing two years.
“With that being said I am reopening recruitment.”
Georgia trending per RPM
Georgia is currently the program trending for Short’s commitment, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The ‘Dawgs sit at a 78.9% chance for his pledge.
“They have told me they love my film this year,” Short told BamaOnLine in November regarding the UGA staff. “They’ll always tell me ‘you must think we’re stupid in believing you are going to sign with Alabama.’ They think they have a good chance to flip me.

… I have a good relationship with Coach Searles and Coach Smart. Coach Smart calls me a lot. He texts me a lot. I am not only hearing from them; I hear it the hallways at my school from teachers and other students. I hear something about UGA at least once a day.”
Clemson off to hot start in 2025
Clemson’s recruiting class is off to a great start in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Tigers rank No. 5 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings with eight commitments.
Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star EDGE Ari Watford ranks No. 21 overall and is the top edge rusher in the 2025 cycle. He committed to Clemson this week.
“Clemson is a very unique place,” Watford told On3. “The people there and the family-oriented culture Coach Swinney has built stood out to me. People that go to Clemson go for the right reasons and that’s something I’ve wanted to be a part of growing up.”
