The race is on for Charlotte Providence Day five-star offensive tackle David Sanders. With offers from nearly every major program in the nation, the 6-foot-5.5, 250-pounder has already made his fair share of visits to a slew of campuses.

The team that’s had him on campus the most is Clemson. On Saturday, Sanders made his fifth stop to see Dabo Swinney and Co. as the Tigers take on Florida State in a gigantic ACC clash. A big performance could be vital in the recruitment of the No. 5 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Clemson was Sanders’ dream school growing up. When he was offered by the Tigers at the end of May, it made an impact on the elite tackle.

“I went to games when I was little because that was my dream school growing up. I have always watched them on TV. To get that offer was a dream come true. Clemson is a school I am really looking at,” Sanders told On3. “Clemson is showing me that I’m one of their highest targets. I was one of their first offers for the 2025 class. That meant the world to me.”

Sanders has been all over. This weekend marks his second game visit, as he was in Tuscaloosa earlier this month to watch Alabama take on Texas. The Crimson Tide also had him on campus at the end of July. In June, he made trips to Tennessee, Florida State and USC. Michigan also received a visit in July.

“I don’t have a certified list of top schools, but I know in my mind that schools like Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State are schools that are on the top of my list, no matter what,” Sanders told On3 in June. “They’re going to be there because of their reputation of having a great program and that’s something I want to be a part of.”. “They’re going to be there because of their reputation of having a great program and that’s something I want to be a part of.”

David Sanders Scouting Summary

“Twitchy, explosive jumbo athlete who looks like one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle early on. A two-way star for Providence Chrisitian in Charlotte as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Has a tall, lean frame, measuring in at around 6-foot-5.5, 250 pounds with a 6-foot-9.5 wing-span and 9.5-inch hand. Registers as a top athlete, ripping off a sensational electronically-timed 4.89-second 40-yard dash at Under Armour’s Atlanta camp prior to his junior season. Transfers that athleticism over to the field. An electric mover for an underclassman offensive line prospect. Explodes to the second level and moves effortlessly in space. Plays much stronger than his lighter weight would suggest. Has developed upper body and core strength to plant defenders into the ground.

Flashes some dominant tendencies as a drive blocker and finisher. Runs his feet on contact and plays with some nastiness. Relatively advanced technically. Also shows off his athleticism as a defensive lineman. Would be an easy Power 5 prospect on that side of the ball. Also shows his functional strength in track and field, where he’s a standout in the shot put, with an outstanding personal best of 53-3.5 feet as a sophomore. Will need to continue adding mass, as he is relatively lean and does not have an overly wide frame.”
