Alabama DB Kylon Griffin finds the fit, commits to Clemson
Montgomery (Ala.) Catholic Preparatory safety Kylon Griffin planned to take three official visits the last three weeks of January and commit on Feb. 2.
Those plans changed.
There won’t be a visit to USC this weekend. After visits to Nebraska and Clemson, the three-star found his home.
“I knew it was Clemson about the middle of my official visit over the weekend,” Griffin told On3. “I felt Clemson had the upper hand for me heading into the visit. By the middle of the visit, I made my decision.”
In the middle of the visit, on Saturday, that is when Griffin delivered the news to the Clemson coaches.
“I told coach Conn first. Then I told coach Goodwin. After that, I talked to coach Swinney. All of them were excited and loving it.”
Griffin felt the same.
“It is just a blessing for me to go to a program like Clemson. The people are special and I just want to keep the standard high.”
The connection at Clemson was right for Griffin
It was Griffin’s first visit to Clemson. He had been in regular contact with the coaches for a few weeks and he had heard about Clemson being different, but he saw it himself over the weekend.
